The New York Capital District Roundtable is a chapter of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), a global professional organization, of which our Roundtable is dedicated to advancing the field and understanding of Supply Chain Management in the Capital District Region of Upstate NY. Supply chain management encompasses the planning and management of all activities involved in sourcing and procurement, conversion, and all logistics management activities. Importantly, it also includes coordination and collaboration with channel partners, which can be suppliers, intermediaries, third party service providers, and customers. In essence, supply chain management integrates supply and demand management within and across companies.
Our chapter conducts Board Meetings every two months on a rotating schedule at various locations throughout the Capital District. In addition to these routinely scheduled Board Meetings we also host a wide variety of educational/networking events throughout the year including: Local Factory and Transportation Facility Tours (Ports, Railroad Facilities, Airports, Distribution Centers, Manufacturers, and Warehouses), Networking Events (Golf, Wine Tasting, & Social Outings), Technology (RFID) and Educational Events (Speakers/Forums/Scholarship Presentations). Membership in the organization also gives you access to Logistics Research & Case Studies, The Journal of Business Logistics, Supply Chain Quarterly, Member Directory, Internship Programs, and Supply Chain Professional Certification.
For a minimal yearly fee the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) will provide you and your organization a competitive edge with the education, research, connections, and professional growth you need to meet the demands of a constantly changing marketplace! We’d love to have you on our Team!!!
